I am a huge fan of charcoal. I love to work with both charcoal sticks as well as pencils for more precise detail and control. Both have their uses and any aspiring charcoal artist should learn how to use both, but this post is specially about charcoal pencils. So let’s answer the question: What are the Best Charcoal Pencils?

I have tried a bunch of different brands of charcoal pencils and keep returning to the same brand again and again, but I prefer General’s charcoal. I just love the look and feel of this brand. Everyone is different however and you will only know which type is best for you by working with a handful of different brands.
