Knife Painting Demo using Acrylics – Pears Still Life

February 2, 2018 by Ralph S 1 Comment

Here is a short little demo from The Virtual Instructor on painting thickly with a knife using acrylic paint.  He is using a simple subject and a basic red/green complimentary color scheme.  Great tutorial for beginners.  Enjoy!

The problem with this demonstration is no reference photo or view of the still life is given. The artist can paint anything they want and we have no idea why he/she/it is choosing a particular color or putting a highlight in a particular area because we have no reference. It makes this demo not very demonstrative of anything.
