I have seen a lot of videos, articles, comments, etc. online that talk about the various ways to thicken your acrylic paint. Some are recommending that you use things like corn starch, flour, joint compound for instance to make your acrylics thicker. While these ingredients may be cheap and on hand, they aren’t recommended as you may get some very nasty results. Besides they make and sell and number of awesome products that are specifically made to thicken your paint. Sure they may be outside of your budget, but it it is better to make the investment than to take a chance with items like corn starch. It isn’t worth it if you want your work to last. So that being said, I highly recommend you purchase high quality thickening mediums to thicken your acrylic paint. Below are several videos that discuss the various thickening mediums available for the artist today. For all of you online art supply needs, I recommend shopping at Dick Blick. I have been shopping there for years. They have a great selection of products and fast affordable shipping options. Enjoy the post!
