    Yes. Just don’t use oil based pastels first and then try to use water based pencils over the oil. Oil can never be followed by water. However, water can be followed by oil. I hope I am giving correct information.

    Yes you can I use both — find it easier to use soft pastels for larger areas ie backgrounds. Pastel pencils are great for detail work. Hope that helps, Lyn

    Yes, you can use with soft pastel and pastel pencils.One is supported by a and aerate the whole picture is so fragile and poetic. alenis

    Thank you for answering, just another question, if i do a painting in oil pastel how do i go ahead to soften the colours, as oil pastel is very dense. Thanx for all the helpfull answers

    Off course!!! Use the pencils to spread colors or to draw little details or borders.
