Learning how to draw cars is a very popular hobby as of late, so I decided to dedicate a post that lists some great resources online to help you learn. Drawing cars may seem like a very difficult thing to accomplish, but as you will see from the links and resources below, it is not as difficult as you might think. The trick is to break things down into smaller, easy to understand parts.

Resource # 1 – How To Draw Cars Fast and Easy Ebook
This first resource is not free but is well worth the small investment.
This is a great downloadable ebook and highly recommended if you truly want to learn how to draw cars fast and easy like a pro.
It was written by Tim Rugendyke who has worked as an automotive designer for 15 years for large companies like Ford and General Motors. Tim also does lectures at an Australian Design School where he teaches students how to draw cars like the pros do.
This ebook contains over 135 illustrations that include step by step instructions on drawing cars like the experts.
This is truly an invaluable resource for car drawing enthusiasts and will save you hours of searching for tips and step by step lessons online.

Resource # 2 -How To Render Amazing 3D Cars in Photoshop
This resource will require a small investment on your part, but it is well worth it! This second resource on how to draw cars was also created by Tim Rugendyke, the same person who wrote the ebook above. How To Render Cars in Photoshop Fast and Easy is a video based learning program that will teach you how to render perfect looking 3Dimensional cars in Photoshop quickly and easily! This tutorial is from the television network TLC. This is actually a series of step by step tutorials that will show you how to draw everything from a 1957 Chevy to a Motorcyle.

This resources is another series of tutorials from a popular drawing website called DragoArt. It includes step by steps on how to draw everything from a Cadillac ELR to Mach 6 from Speed Racer. I feel they could have broken the lessons down a little further, but still an overall great resource.

I enjoy photographing cars…and love using photoshop to push the boundries…I would definately be interested in learning more about what can be done with regards to drawing cars and using photoshop to really make the image jump!

Great Tutorial! I always wanted to learn how to draw a car. What I really love about this post is that it goes into detail, what I mean by detail is the shiny reflection that cars have and things like that I love it! A lot of drawing tutorials teach you just the basics but this one really stands out! I give it a A++

Amazing article! I have been having difficulty with drawing cars more realistically. I just depended on my ability in drawing, but, I lacked the techniques that could make cars look real in every aspect. I hope that by following this, one day, I can achieved drawing my fave Bentley car.
