Describe This Painting: This is painting of an tree located on Hornby Island B C. I found it to be the most sensual and mystifing tree I have even seen or tried to paint. My first idea for the painting was to add some back ground elements like woodland creatures hiding behind it etc.but the more I worked on the image the more I realized the tree had all the elements I needed and my focus was the tree. It was indeed a mystery. The path going from the tree leads you into the woods and the possiblity of further discovery.

Describe this Piece: This entire image is drawn including the background, tape, and string. It is considered trompe l’oeil drawing. Tinker Toys, Yo-Yos, Jacks, and Lincoln Logs and are some of the toys that baby-boomers grew up with. These toys from the past represent a much simpler time that many people yearn for. A photo captures a moment in time, but I’ve drawn the Yo-Yo string in a way that links us to the past.

Describe this Piece: This picture was inspired by a hike at Maple Lake in Willow Springs, IL after a heavy snow. I stopped at this particular location to admire the the soft evening colors and deer tracks that lead into the deep forest. Suddendly, I heard crows “cawing” in the distance. I always wanted to remember that moment so it became eternal in my painting. Nature is the greatest teacher.
