“I have a lot of trouble with the perspective on the steeples of New England churches. Does anyone have any quick and simple fixes for this? “

Treat all surfaces and points on the steeples as any other surface in your painting, receeding to a single vanishing point. I would suggest your painting or drawing would look better by placing the horizon below eye level. Sketch the scene both ways and select a single perspective with a far vanishing point to see which looks best.
I hope that helps. It’s hard to give a good word description for such a visual concept.
