<description>I started out as an oil pastel artist and then made a transition to oils later because of the dust problem. Then I picked up the oil pastels later. In my childhood I always used oil pastels in art class so I have been quite familiar with them. Oil pastels are also compatible with oil paints so that is a huge plus. The color choice, however, is not as great as that of dry soft pastels but I make do. I still encourage anybody to give pastels a try before they venture into other art medias.
