Use Unlocking Formula as a paint layer to permit blending paint back in or wiping away sections of applied paint. It can also extend wet blending time. It’s easy to apply using the Water Sprayer.

Sennelier was founded in 1887 in a shop across from the Louvre, just steps from the School of Beaux Arts. Gustave Sennelier mixed oil colors and watercolors for some of the most notable painters of the time including Cézanne, Picasso, Bonnard, Gauguin, Dali, Modigliani, Soutine, Degas, Monet, and Kandinsky, as well as for nearby students. Sennelier applies finely ground, pH neutral vegetable flakes by hand to a 200 lb, pH neutral board stock, creating a paper that is slightly abrasive, yet has a perfectly smooth and uniform tooth. This greatly enhances pigment adhesion, so that less fixative is required. It offers an excellent surface for any dry media. Individual sheets measure 19″ × 25″ (48 cm × 63 cm). Use of wet media not recommended.

The colors are easily blended, slow to wear, break-resistant, and waterproof. Each 3.8 mm core is enclosed in a round cedar casing that is lacquered to match the core.

These pencils are brilliantly colored and can be sharpened to a very fine point with no crumbling. The firm, insoluble pigments lay down smoothly. Each pencil is hexagonal, and the wood case is color-coded. Pencils are sold unsharpened.

They contain high-quality pigments for rich color saturation, with soft cores that equal the creamy consistency of Prismacolor Premier Colored Pencils for superior blending and shading. Especially suited for color coverage of large areas, Art Stix offer a bold, smooth laydown of color.

They measure 3¼” × ¼” (82 mm × 6 mm) and can be sharpened to a point for detailed work. They’re available in a range of colors that matches Prismacolor’s Premier Colored Pencils, Verithin Colored Pencils, and Watercolor Colored Pencil palettes.
