In all my painting lesson videos I try to teach specific information about different aspects of painting. So much so that you might think I’m all work and no play, so in this video I simply wanted to show you what fun I have painting sometimes.
Alan’s passion for painting has made him venture further in the field of fine arts exploring various methods of oil painting inspired by the palettes of Frank Reilly and Daniel E. Greene. He has been fortunate to attend Daniel’s Greene’s oil portrait demo/classes held in his North Salem, NY studio and considers Daniel’s work and teachings a major influence in his paintings.
This is the first time I’ve done this project with them, so it’s kind of an experiment.
We are all working from the same photo, one of mine. I chose a mostly full front view of the face. It is classic Rembrandt lighting, in which there is a triangular patch of light on the shadowed side of the face.
