Comments From The Artist: I have a line of greeting cards, which I customize to fit the situation, so they are wordless, initially – blank greeting cards. I started painting on my own about 30 years ago. Totally self-taught, talent God-given, I also teach. I work in just about every medium – tried them all years ago, thinking I’d settle on one – I settled on them all! I work from my own photographs. I am also known as “the Red Lion”, and “Rtiste”.

Nice cool colors. One thing bugs me is that the trees on the left come from nowhere. Where are the trunks? Nice darks.

Hi love the movement and the freedom of your line throughout your rendition. I also love the vivid color. I too am a self taught artist that also acknowledges my gift from God and I too have settled on ALL OF THE MEDIUMS, including found objects.
Thanks for the inspiration

Hi Veronica,
This little creation is delightful to view and I enjoy your use of color throughout. I like the interest you have created in the windows and door by using value and shapes.
The one suggestion I would like to make, (and this is only my personal viewpoint), would be to put that nice violet hue you have used on the porch roof into the door and two windows, along with some of the yellow, for a complementary color theme in those shapes, creating a focal area. It would create more of an interest in those smaller shapes than having the bright color on the roof. I also would grey down the top roof a bit, leaving only a bit of that pure blue so far at the top of your painting.
Basically I like how you handled the trees. Maybe have the two dark tree trunks on the left side against the bright yellow-green, a little less prominent and lighter in value, with also more yellow-green coming over their shapes. As they are now, they direct us out of the painting because of those two dark lines against the bright yellow-green shapes. Or you could also change the direction of those trunk shapes!
One other little item are the two black rectangular shapes in the window next to the door. Maybe change the shapes in size or location, or add another so that they don’t look like two eyes. This is because of the dark against the lighter background.
You have keep the interest of the viewer within this little painting by varying the color, value, texture and shapes! Very nicely done!
Thank you for sharing with all of us and KEEP PAINTING!!!!!!

This is beautiful. Reminds me of Lakeside, an area near to where I live on Lake Erie. Well done.

I love it, very nice use of color! I wish you were closer to my neck of the woods, as I’d be delighted to be a student of yours and learn a few new techniques on different mediums. It’s nice that you have worked with many mediums and allowed yourself to be open to them continually:-).

I like it but are those two tree truncks on the left or branches? I don’t see them going to the ground.

I like the color, I like the composition. This little painting does not embolden me; it does not awaken me; it does not aggravate, stress or worry me. It doesn’t force me to think. ( the current economy is taking care of all that) This little painting just makes me feel comfortable, like a homemade meatloaf dinner. For that I thank you for your work.

I love the composition, colour, right amount of lights and darks. I’m only just starting with pastels and admire anyone who can make them work so well.
