		<description>Hi Jean,

I am a little late in getting to these critiques due to many things &quot;on my plate&quot;!

My first reaction to your painting is that you have a good command of painting in oil! Your colors are clean and not overworked, and the grays in the background offer a nice contrast to the beautiful way you painted the shapes in the foreground.

I do have a few things to say about the composition of your painting. You have three tangents in your painting. They are where the green leaf JUST touches the handle of the teapot, the blue vase JUST touches the handle of the teapot, and the lemon JUST touches, or appears to JUST touch the lower bottom edge of the teapot. By OVERLAPPING these shapes, or as I always tell my students, &quot;have your shapes take BITES out of other shapes&quot;, you will end up having a much stronger composition. David also mentioned this in his comments to you.

Maybe also have that red flower a little lower in the vase closer to the teapot, closer to the center of interest. It seems a bit bright to be up so high in the composition. A nice highlight on the lemon would also be a nice touch, as Shirle stated.

You have a nice flare for painting in oil and your use of color is very good. Keep painting! Thank you for sharing with all of us!
