Hi Jane,

I am back from traveling throughout Peru, exploring the Amazon and the canopy walkway through the jungle treetops, hiking the ancient Inca Trail, climbing Machu Pichu, exploring the ruins of Cusco and Pisco, and checking out the sights in Lima. Therefore, I am a little late with my critiques on this sight.

Your painting evokes a wonderful sense of PEACE! Your division of space is great and the low horizon gives importance to that wonderful sky.

What I would do differently if this were my painting, would be to add a bit more of that red color to the bank on the right side, so that the painting does not appear to be weighted on the left side. There are two bushes on the left side, and I am sure that they also appear in your reference. I would put another smaller bush down lower in between those two bushes to make an odd number. Maybe also have the third bush closer to the bush on the right of the two.

You did a fabulous job with the clouds and sky! I wish you all of the BEST in the annual competition! Keep studying those SHAPES and keep painting! Thank you for sharing with all of us!

This painting is beautiful. I would never have guessed this was pastel. I also love the clouds and the color of the sky. Great job.
