Dear Harold,

Good art should evoke an emotion within the viewer. Your work certainly does that and makes us feel the pain and anguish of those very trying times serving our country. You did an excellent job in your work portraying these difficult times, and the barbed wire separating the various scenes helped to create this overall feeling.

One suggestion I would make would be to move the brighter section in the lower left corner to a higher position in the painting, away from the corner. This bright area draws our eyes out of the painting down to this corner. By placing the brighter section up under the upper right section, our eyes would not be drawn to this corner. However, I am only speaking about composition, and maybe you had a reason for putting this section in that lower left corner.

This is a very emotional piece and a job well done. Congratulations on your award and the display of your painting at the PTSD Unit in Denver! It is only through those experiences from serving our country, that you can share with us, through your art, those very emotional times. Thank you for serving our country! I want to wish you continued SUCCESS in your painting and am looking forward to seeing more of your work!

Thank you so much for sharing this with all of us.

Keep practicing and painting!

All the BEST to you,

Ingrid ;-)

Dear Harold thank you for sharing this very emotional and moving piece. Having a son who is in the military and about to ship out to some more danger zones in the next month your painting made me a bit sad not only for my son but for all those (yourself included) who have suffered the trauma of war. Your art brings it all very clear
My prayers are with you keep painting, S
