    Hi Gary
Most unusual – I have never seen anything like this before, a very attractive picture.

    Hi Gary,
An interesting medium and an interesting painting. My guess is that to see this work in person would be impressive do to the size. there is some subtle color I see that must be beautiful. Do you often work in ink and acrylics? Maybe it’s just the digital photo, but I keep looking at it and want to pick up my colored markers and color it in. :)
Thanks for sending it in for us all to see. Great work!

I really like the black and white contrast but like James I really thought more color would really bring the flowers out one or two in the foreground seemed just the right depth
    Thanks for sharing your work

The flowers look quite delicate as they probably are and I like how you put the greenery in the background making it out of focus. Nice !

    Hi Gary,
Its rather unsual mix of colours.I liked it thoroughly..but for the empty spaces which kind of take your focus from the coloured part.
    Anyways good work!

I think the empty space gives an overall balance to the painting. A nice piece.

    Hi Gary,

I love the powerful strokes that can be made with SUMI ink! It is a favorite medium for me to work in, especially in my monotype work.

Your creation is very much a pattern piece, with all over shapes and values. As I squint down at this work, my eyes are torn between the very top of your painting with those two dark leaf shapes, and in the lower left hand corner. My suggestion would be to concentrate the darks around the areas in which you want us to spend more time looking and subdue the others. Some quiet areas used can be quite lovely to accent the busy areas.

When looking at a painting the eyes need a resting place. If there is too much “BUSY”, we can’t appreciate all of the lovely work that went into the creation. The same goes for color……if there is too much color, we don’t see the painting. Grays used in the painting are resting places for the eye so that we do see the colorful sections.

Maybe have that lower flower shape moved up a bit and join it with a few of the other flower shapes to make a larger focal area. Concentrate more darks around this area, in the leaves etc., and gradually fade and soften the other flower shapes….keeping the patterns, but not too heavy to compete with your focal area.

Remember that these are just my thoughts, and you have the final say as the artist! ;-) ))))

Thank you for sharing with all of us and keep painting!

    Ingrid ;-)
