Love how that warmth pops through and seems to bring the whole scene alive.

Hi Dan,

GREAT use of color! I LOVE your state and have visited various times, each time with awe! You have captured the magic of Hawaii!

I have a couple of comments. I do like the road along side of the water as it is. What I think seems to be the problem is the dark line along the left side of the road. It draws attention to that area, bringing the road up (vertical) rather than sitting back due to distance. Also maybe have the tunnel not so defined with the dark around the tunnel shape......maybe more muted and close in value. This would push those shapes back into the distance.

The other comment I would like to make is not to have the shadows of the palm trees so defined in value and hard edges. This would allow them to follow the contour of the ground surface and be a part of that surface.

The red on the left side of the road as one enters the painting should be a bit wider. The shape as it is now distorts the road shape.

I LOVE your vibrant use of color. This is HAWAII!

Thank you for sharing with us! Keep painting!

Intense, vivid and warm. The choice of colours is harmonic and catches our attention. I like it very much.

Hawaii is already impressionistic-esque but the impression on the birch wood panel is definitely impressing, haha. I do agree with Shirley that an S Curve would be more delightful to look at but it seems the bow in the road is almost pushing the palm trees out into the ocean. I like that.
