Not only do I enjoy Mr. Sutton’s artwork, I own two of his paintings. As Arsenio Hall might have said about his work, “It makes you go ‘Hmmmmm’”. I have several of his other paintings posted on my web site, http://www.notnatsbob.com at the Bud Sutton link. So glad to see someone else is enjoying his work.

I love the way you did your Indian. It is a figure that I could contemplate about for a very long time. (that’s a good thing!) I’m glad you are painting in your retirement. Such a great activity!

Excellent perspective, it really feels like I am looking down hill.
Also love the bird flying high in the sky.

I like it very much. Is that smoke? Is it a sweat lodge by any chance? I do not know much of the culture of Indians but wondered if it were not a meditative scene.

I like this picture very much, you see something diferent in it each time you look at it and you feel that you are there with the indians.

    Hi Bud,

Congratulations! You have captured the peaceful feeling of this scene and I can smell that fire burning! How wonderful that you have painting in your retirement!

I would like to offer a suggestion. In order to have the Native American, the smoke and teepees stand out more in your painting, the foreground could be darker and blended more with the rock shape. The green trees behind the smoke could also be a little darker between the teepees to give more emphasis to the smoke, the teepees and Native American…….the focus of your painting!

It is nicely painted and you have done very well capturing the feeling of this area!

Keep up the good work and enjoy creating in your retirement!

To me you captured the feeling of solitude and the Indian soaring with the bird. The Indian is definitely the centre of attention. Truthfully I would have liked to see less foreground – it seems to detract a little from the subject matter. Nonetheless you captured the feeling and the desire to soar with the eagle. Well done.
