Therefore, I have been absent from this sight for a while. Your hay barn has the look of an old weathered barn which you have accomplished! Even though the barn is brown, I would have added some of the green and maybe some of the blue in the sky to the barn wood areas for a little added interest. When I squint down with my eyes, the tree line on the right side of your painting looks to be a little too pronounced for being back in the distance. Maybe softening or loosing some of those edges would would help. Also, by adding some blue to this tree line would help to move it to the background. The hay stack in the front of the barn seems to be too obvious and not integrated with the shape of the side of the barn. Here again, I would soften some of those edges that appear to be very hard and sharp as they are next to the barn. Changing those shapes would have the hay stack be more of a part of the barn and not appear as a shape added onto it. As for pricing your work, this depends on several facts: the size, your experience, your time invested in the piece, and if you want to sell it! I always tell my students, that you want to get your work into as many collections as you can. If you have a price so high on your painting............you may sell it, but you then have set your standards and prices, and you can't go back. Start low, but enough to cover your costs, and enough so that it is fair. You have to be happy with the amount. Keep painting, keep practicing, and thank you for sharing with us! In my humble opinion I would have the background trees a lighter tone of green, they are very close to the same tone as the dark forground grass which is much closer. If the back ground trees are lighter it adds to the distance perspective and makes them look further away. Keep up the great work and look forward to seeing more in the future. Hi Belinda,
