Hi Anita – Just love it, so peaceful yet with the boats there it makes one think of where they are going, etc. I like a painting that stirs the imagination. Beautifully painted. Lovely work.

Pastel on board? That’s really interesting. What kind of board and was the application of pastel efficient? This drawing/painting is well drafted.

I like everything in the painting except the colour of the boats. They are too much red, a little agressive I feel. But this is a matter of taste and does not demerit the paint work which I quite admire.

I love the painting, It has been well done and in particular the red boat and the green bush, comp[lement each other and creating an axciting centre of interest.

    Hi Anita,

Nice work with your pastel painting! Good feeling of a peaceful setting.

I do have a few comments. I like the red boats, but to connect them more to the painting, some vibrant strokes of green in the boats would connect them to the greens around them.

The one thick dark stick on the left side of the boats seems to be distracting me from the boats because of the dark value of the stick against the lighter value of the water. Maybe move this stick somewhere behind the boats or make it part of a grouping of sticks to bring the eye back into the painting from the left.

I really like how you added the red throughout your painting, and is so doing, you integrated this color throughout. With a little green added in strong complementary accents within the boats themselves, the connection would be complete.

Thanks for sharing this lovely painting with us. Keep painting!

    Ingrid ;-)
