I found this really cool video on YouTube today from artist Howard L. Cowdrick. He demonstrates a fascinating
acrylic painting technique using alcohol. It is a very interesting way to work with acrylics. I know many artists get somewhat bored sometimes and are looking for ideas to breathe new life into their work and I hope this video helps inspire you!
Enjoy!

I love it! i’d love to use this technique in my final project, as i am attending SCAD. Though, i am concerned about what format to use. Canvas? paper? what works best? there are no restrictions for my final project, though i was hoping to be able to do it on canvas. will this technique still work on canvas??
thanks for your help!

You said it–it IS like magic! It’s spontaneous–such unexpected results! You never know what might happen!— I needed that.

wooo! I love this technique. I am just starting an arts degree course and was looking for a textured surface to develop an idea for the skin of a lizard. I am going to play with this and see what happens. Thank you.
