This video shows a short demonstration on painting highlights, or bark on a tree limb. Using a small rounded brush accompanied with round brushstrokes makes the branch look more 3 dimensional. Start from where your light source is and make rounded brush strokes to create the detail on the branch. Also, leave small areas of shadows to create bumps, and imperfections in the branch.
